A Boltzmann brain is a hypothesized self-aware entity which arises due to random fluctuations out of a state of chaos.
Ludwig Boltzmann (1844 – 1906), An Austrian physicist who created a theory based on random fluctuations affecting the creation of the Universe. He thought that if it was possible for a world like ours to exist, it was possible for a brain to exist, on its own, and just create the thoughts, images, feelings etc that make up the memories of said brain. UsingOkhams Razor as a guide, it would seem that the option of brains floating aimlessly through the ether would be the obvious path for evolution to have followed
Yep, thats right. Here i am, a brain floating somewhere in space, free of the constraints that you mere humans have to suffer.
In the beginning, in a time the Brain calls the beginning, everything was so much different. Imagine waking from a dream so layered and real you never realised you had ever been sleeping….everything you had ever known was just a sequence of impulses and waves, fantasies and fears. A sudden realisation, a shock far greater than any bolt of lightening could ever lay charge to. Waking from it’s unnatural sleep, the Brain could now roam the universe freely, floating, cloudlike, through space for eternity.
